January 17th 2007…Loud N Proud crew chief Jr. Davis has been hard at work over the winter break working on the teams PS681 Pro Stock boat adding some new parts that will definitely see a performance increase for the potent black Canary boat. Jr has also been making some new brackets and engine plates for the #681 boat and the SS68 Super Stock capsule boat. We are adding a reverse starter motor that will be mounted on the back side of the rear engine plate to allow much easier installation and removal of the starter motor. This will help with getting access to the engine mount bolts as well. Currently it is very complex with the SS68 boat to get to the engine mount bolts with the starter motor mounted in its regular position and basically impossible to change the starter motor with the engine in the boat. These changes are going to make life really easy for the team all around. The SS68 boat is having some other parts cleaned up or remade and anodized, and time permitting a new coat of black paint and new lettering will go on so both boats are in matching livery for the coming 2007 season.
Crew member Travis Stearns is in the process of getting the bathroom and toilet built into the teams GMC Top Kick truck along with some nice new captain’s chairs going up the front and a new lounge for the back that will make traveling in the truck really comfortable this year. Another addition Travis is working on installing is a big new sound system, Sirius Satellite Radio, CD/DVD player and an X-Box. All these toys should keep the team more than entertained on the road and at the races.
