Brochheuser 3rd in Super Stock – Kenner 2nd in Pro Stock at Bakersfield

March 26th 2007ÉThe 2nd round of the 2007 APBA national points series roared into action with great fields of boats, great weather and great racing at the famous Lake Ming course located just outside Bakersfield, CA. Six Super Stock boats were present and Loud N Proud team owner Jeff Brochheuser was very happy to be back behind the wheel driving his SS68 machine. Jeff had a good weekend driving to 3rd place overall. Some minor issues prevented the very fast SS68 from finishing further up the field but all in all a successful outing with more valuable points on the board. Dave Bryant driving Dave RankinŐs SS80 – Wild Child took first place overall in Super Stock and Loud N Proud PS681 Pro Stock team driver Chris Kenner took 2nd overall driving Mike BeardŐs SS63 – Bear Necessity.

In Pro Stock Chris Kenner had one of those weekends where bolts break, electrical wires and water lines fall off, all sorts of silly little stuff that can cost your dearly. One of those races where no matter how well prepared you are or what you do you go around in circles chasing your tail. But hey, thatŐs racing!!!! All in all it wasnŐt too bad though as Kenner still managed to take 2nd overall out of 8 Pro Stocks on hand. Hats off to the Loud N Proud crew who worked their butts off to get the boat back on the water after each heat of racing. Dave Bryant did a stellar job driving RankinŐs SS80 to take out the Pro Stock class for this event as well, doing a very quick engine swap from Super Stock to Pro Stock and then back to their Super Stock engine between heats. The very likeable Dale Hernandez Jr. (aka as Dale Bon Jovi after his awesome Karaoke stint at the pub on Saturday night J) out of Minnesota again showed he is fast and can mix it with the best on the west coast with his PS690 – Revival boat.

Overall a great safe weekend of racing was had and huge thanks must go to our crew Terry Lindblad, Jr. & Colene Davis, Hugh Gideon and Travis Stearns for all of their great work at the shop and at the races. Thanks also to Team Rescue and to Ross Wallach of the Southern California Speedboat Club and his great team for putting on yet another great weekend of racing for us all to be a part of.
