SCSC Spring Classic - Parker, AZ

March 26, 2007ÉPower boat racing returns to the Colorado River at Parker, AZ over the weekend of April 21-23 2007 with the annual Southern California Speedboat Club - Blue Water Resort and Casino Spring Classic. Well known Maple Valley, WA flatbottom and soon to be Unlimited Hydroplane driver Kip Brown will be making the trek down from the northwest with his wife Tiffany for the event. Kip will be in the cockpit of the SS68 Super Stock for this race and other events throughout the 2007 season where owner Jeff Brochheuser cannot make the call. Kip is a great driver and has many years experience in various inboard flatbottom and hydroplane classes. Kip actually drove this boat for previous owner Paul Palm at the 2005 APBA Western Divisional Championships at Black Lake, WA and was in a strong first place until an engine problem prevented Brown from finishing the final. We're really looking forward to having Kip driving the boat for us and we are extremely confident he will perform very well behind the wheel. Currently SS68 is in the shop where Jeff and the team are busy at it and have everything out getting anodized and power coated and yes all going to plan time wise the yellow school bus paint will be gone in place of some nice new black paint.

The ÒAussieÓ Chris Kenner will be in the hot seat of the beautiful Jr. Davis prepared PS681 Pro Stock. Kenner and Davis have been hard at work in the shop piecing together everything in the teams new 24Õ enclosed trailer for the 681 boat, as well as going through everything to insure none of the gremlins that plagued the team at the recent Bakersfield race repeat themselves again. Kenner will again do double driving duties as he goes into his second season behind the wheel of the Patrick Breazeale owned and Bob Goettel tuned K66 - Blown Brothers K Racing Runabout Sprint Boat.

The SCSC Spring Classic will be the first round of the 2007 SSRA – Super Stock Racing Association series, round three of the Western Pro Stock Racing Association series and round three of the 2007 APBA National Championship pointÕs series. With close to 100 boats expected to be in attendance, it promises to be an awesome weekend of racing. We look forward to seeing you there.
